Applying for Medicaid, SNAP (food assistance), or other benefits in Florida often involves proving how much money you earn. For some people, that means finding recent pay stubs, contacting an employer, or gathering bank statements.

But what happens if you work different hours every week, earn money through delivery apps, or don't have traditional pay stubs?

Florida's MyACCESS system has introduced a new optional tool called Income Passport, powered by SteadyIQ, to help applicants report income information electronically.

Instead of gathering every document manually, eligible users may be able to connect their payroll, gig-work, or bank accounts and create an income report for the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF).

This guide explains what Income Passport does, how to use it, whether you must connect your accounts, and what to do if you need assistance.

What Is MyACCESS Income Passport?

Income Passport is an income-reporting and verification tool provided by SteadyIQ and made available through Florida's MyACCESS application process.

It helps applicants gather information about their earnings from supported financial and employment accounts.

For example, it may retrieve income information from:

  • Employer payroll systems
  • Bank accounts receiving employment income
  • Gig-work platforms, such as delivery or rideshare services
  • Other supported income sources

Income Passport organizes the information into a report that applicants can review before approving its submission to DCF.

The purpose is to reduce the paperwork involved in verifying income and potentially make the review process easier.

Income Passport does not decide eligibility

Income Passport does not determine whether you qualify for Medicaid, SNAP, or another benefit. DCF reviews the information and makes the applicable eligibility decisions.

Who Can Use Income Passport in Florida?

According to a Florida DCF informational flyer published in August 2026, Income Passport is offered during certain MyACCESS application workflows.

The flyer specifically identifies two situations:

  1. Applying for SNAP (food assistance) alone
  2. Applying for multiple benefits together through MyACCESS

Applicants may see the option within the income section of their online application.

Not everyone will necessarily see Income Passport. Availability may depend on the benefit application and the options presented by MyACCESS.

The flyer does not confirm that Income Passport is available for every Medicaid-only application, renewal, or outstanding verification request.

If you do not see the feature, continue following the instructions provided in MyACCESS or your DCF notice.

How to Use MyACCESS Income Passport: Step by Step

The process is designed to help applicants share income information electronically.

Step 1: Start or Continue Your MyACCESS Application

Visit Florida's official MyACCESS website (opens in a new tab), then sign in or begin the appropriate benefits application.

Complete the required questions about your household, employment, and income.

Income Passport is not a replacement for the entire benefits application. It is an optional feature within supported application workflows.

After completing the income-related questions, MyACCESS may display an option labeled Link with Income Passport.

Select that option if you want to use the service.

If it does not appear, do not assume your application is incomplete. Continue with the instructions shown in MyACCESS.

Step 3: Connect an Available Income Source

Income Passport may ask you to connect a supported account that contains information about your earnings.

Examples include your employer's payroll portal, a gig-work platform, or a financial account.

Depending on the account, you may need to sign in through a secure connection process.

Protect your passwords

Only enter account credentials in the authorized service reached through the official MyACCESS workflow. Never give your payroll or bank password to a case manager, friend, or someone claiming they can complete the process for you.

Step 4: Review Your Income Report

After gathering available information, Income Passport creates a report.

Before approving it, carefully review the information displayed.

Check your report

  • Your employer or income source is correctly identified
  • The income amounts appear accurate
  • Relevant income sources are included
  • Any missing or unfamiliar information is understood or clarified

If the report appears incorrect or incomplete, do not approve it without reviewing the available correction or support options.

Step 5: Approve Submission to DCF

According to the DCF flyer, applicants review their income report and approve SteadyIQ to send it to the department.

This approval is an important part of the process.

Once the report is submitted, DCF can use the information in reviewing the application.

Submitting an Income Passport report does not guarantee approval or eliminate every possible request for additional verification.

Continue checking MyACCESS for notices and updates.

Can Income Passport Replace Pay Stubs?

In some situations, Income Passport can reduce or eliminate the need to manually upload pay stubs because it gathers information from connected sources.

However, it is not a universal replacement for income documents.

You may still need to provide documentation if:

  • Your income source cannot be connected
  • The available report is incomplete
  • DCF needs clarification about certain earnings
  • The specific application workflow does not offer Income Passport
  • DCF requests additional verification

SteadyIQ also describes a pay-stub upload option within its broader service, although the available features may vary depending on the agency's implementation.

If DCF has already sent you a notice requesting documents, follow that notice rather than assuming Income Passport automatically replaces the requested proof. Our guide to what to do when DCF asks for more information walks through it.

What if You Work for Cash or Are Self-Employed?

Not everyone receives traditional paychecks.

You may be self-employed, clean homes, perform landscaping work, provide childcare, deliver food, or earn money through occasional jobs.

Income Passport may help if your earnings appear in a supported connected account.

But cash earnings or informal work may not appear in a payroll system or bank transaction history.

You still need to report income accurately, even when it does not appear in an electronically connected account.

If you cannot verify income through Income Passport, ask DCF which alternative documents or statements may be accepted for your situation.

Depending on the circumstances, this may involve self-employment records, employer statements, income-and-expense records, or other verification.

Do not leave out income simply because the electronic tool cannot retrieve it.

Is Income Passport Required?

No. Florida DCF's flyer describes Income Passport as an optional tool.

You do not have to choose electronic account linking simply because it appears during your application.

If you prefer not to connect your payroll or bank accounts, follow the alternative document-submission instructions available for your application.

You can also ask DCF how to provide the necessary verification without using Income Passport.

This is especially important for people who are uncomfortable using online banking, share devices, have limited internet access, or do not have accounts that can be connected.

Is Income Passport Safe? What Happens to Your Information?

Connecting a payroll or financial account can feel uncomfortable, particularly when you are applying for public assistance.

It is reasonable to ask what information is collected and how it will be used.

SteadyIQ states that its service uses encrypted connections, does not store account login credentials, and gives applicants an opportunity to review and approve reports before submission.

However, not storing your password is different from not collecting financial information.

SteadyIQ's privacy policy explains that its services may collect employment, payroll, banking, transaction, and other personal information, depending on how the service is used.

Before connecting an account:

  1. Make sure you started from the official MyACCESS application.
  2. Read the consent and information-sharing screens.
  3. Understand which accounts and information you are authorizing the service to access.
  4. Review your income report before approving submission.
  5. Ask for help if you do not understand what you are agreeing to.

You can review SteadyIQ's Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab) and Applicant Information (opens in a new tab) pages.

What if Income Passport Doesn't Work?

Technology doesn't always work as expected.

You may encounter a payroll provider that isn't supported, an account connection that fails, or an income report that doesn't contain everything you expected.

If that happens:

  • Check the account information. Make sure you selected the correct income source and followed the authorized sign-in instructions.
  • Review the available support options. SteadyIQ provides applicant assistance resources for questions about income reports and account connections.
  • Consider another verification method. If electronic linking isn't possible, ask DCF about submitting documents through MyACCESS.
  • Pay attention to deadlines. If you received a DCF notice requesting income verification, do not allow the deadline to pass while troubleshooting Income Passport.

General applicant information is available on SteadyIQ's applicant page (opens in a new tab).

Does Using Income Passport Make DCF Approve Benefits Faster?

Income Passport is intended to reduce paperwork and simplify income verification.

Because it can gather information electronically, it may reduce the need for back-and-forth requests in some cases.

However, approval times depend on the individual application, the benefit program, the completeness of the information, and DCF's review process.

There is no guarantee that using Income Passport will result in faster approval.

Applicants should continue monitoring MyACCESS for notices, requests, and decisions.

If your application is still under review, see our guide to what a pending MyACCESS application means.

The flyer does not establish that Income Passport is available for every existing verification request. Follow your DCF notice and ask the department which methods are accepted for your case.

What happens if the report shows the wrong income?

Review the report carefully before approving submission. Use the correction or support options available in the service, and contact DCF if you need guidance on documenting your actual income.
